The Secrets of Disneyland

Disneyland in Anaheim, California is known to be one of the most famous theme amusement parks of the United States and is visited by an approximate of almost 16,000,000 people every year. Many people may have visited Disneyland, but that does not mean that they all know about the secrets Disneyland holds.

Walking around Disneyland usually meant that every visitor had access to every every part of the theme park, whether it be a restaurant or a ride. Unfortunately, there are places around the park that are off-limits to ordinary visitors.

Near the "Pirates of Caribbean" there is a members-only club called Club 33. People can only get into Club 33 if they are a member or accompanied by a member of the club. The club is also the only place where alcohol is served in the entire theme park.

Another place that is usually off-limits to ordinary visitors is a basketball court. The basketball court is located in the top of Matterhorn Mountain about 100 feet up in the sky.
As reported by Grant Marek, "...there's a super small hoops half-court with a mounted basket that used to be reserved for the trained alpine climbers who occasionally ascend the mountain."

Above the Fire Department in Town Square of Disneyland, there used to be a secret and private apartment located there. The purpose of the secret apartment was for when Walt Disney, the creator of Disneyland, and his family wanted to stay overnight at Disneyland.

Disneyland is known to be a family-friendly theme park, but maybe Disneyland may have not been a family-friendly theme park from the beginning if its years.

For example, there used to be a cigar shop on Main Street that was opened for 35 years, but was taken down. Also, from 1955-1956, there used to be a lingerie shop called the Corset Shop. It was located at the Eastern side of Main Street on an elevated porch.

Disneyland parks are used to help children, and possibly adults, make the Disneyland movies come alive and have the visitors try to experience what it would be like to be from Disney princess, a pirate, to a visitor of the Haunted Mansion.

One of the most famous attractions in Disneyland is the Sleeping Beauty Castle and the castle has a drawbridge just like in the movie. What people do not know is that the drawbridge actually works. Even though the drawbridge works and can move, it was only used for the opening day in 1955 and in 1983 to show the newly remodeled Fantasyland.

Although some Disneyland secrets seem pretty awesome, some are actually quite creepy.

An example, is when the "Pirates of Caribbean" opened in 1967, the skeletons used in the scenery of the ride used to be real skeleton.

In the "Haunted Mansion," it is rumored that some visitors used to the throw the ashes of their dead and cremated relatives around the area of the location.

Although Disneyland is filled with cool and creepy secrets, it is still known as a great theme amusement park to take your friends or your family with you to create amazing memories with.

Alternative Energy Solutions

The amount of air pollution, such as carbon dioxide, released into the earth's atmosphere adds up everyday. For example, that there have been about 134.51 billion gallons of gasoline burned in the United States alone in 2013. If this is the case, then people have to start using alternative energy solutions to prevent much further damage to the earth's atmosphere.

Alternative energy is energy sources that do not harm the environment and energy sources that do not destroy natural resources of the planet.

According to the Alternative Energy Organization, "By 2050, one-third of the world's energy will need to come from solar, wind, and other renewable sources. ... Alternative energy sources are renewable and are though to be "free energy resources. ... These include biomass energy, wind energy, solar energy, geothermal energy, and hydroelectric energy."

Out of all of the alternative energy sources, the best one is solar energy because it is the most environmental friendly. A very common use for solar energy is by using solar panels. "Today's solar panels are bombproof and often come with a 25 year warranty or more. Your solar panels may outlive you. They are also modular - you can start with a small system and expand over it over time. Solar panels are light (weighing about 20 pounds), so if you move you can take the system with you," stated by the Alternative Energy Organization.

Another alternative energy source common is wind power. Humans have actually been using wind power for centuries because wind was used to help sail the ships in the seas for explorations and trading. Today, people receive their energy by using wind turbines because of the way they operate. As reported by the United States Department of Energy, " A wind turbine works the opposite if a fan. Instead of using electricity to make wind, like a fan, wind turbines use wind to make electricity. The wind turns the blades which spin a shaft, which connects to a generator and makes electricity."

Using alternative energy sources are not that hard to do. Every little change counts because it's for the sake of not just the environment of the earth itself, but also for the sake of everyone that lives on this planet. Once people start using alternative energy sources, the earth's atmosphere may not disintegrate as fast as it would without the use of the new sources of energy.
